Hi.

A little while back I was banned and then unbanned when someone thought I was advertising, as my usual player name is samharris.org (in fact it is simply the website for a philosopher and neuroscientist whom I admire).

Anyway, recently (I think two days ago) I was in a squad chatting with your admin Jevski, and he indicated that he couldn't see a problem with me using samharris.org, and that I shouldn't worry about it in future. (Hey Jevski, please tell me if you feel that I have not given an accurate summary of our conversation there.)

Aaaaaanyway, a few minutes ago, I was playing as samharris.org, and someone made a squad called "suicide squad", which I joined (I was camping IEDs anyway, so I didn't really care which squad I was in). After a few minutes, I got a warning about the squad name, which suggested the admin had mistaken me for the SL. I didn't make the squad, and I was not SL, nor did I have an officer kit (to be clear), so I was very surprised to get the warning.

Then, a few moments later, I got a warning saying "no site names" (which I assume referred to my player name), followed by a kick.

Don't know if I am banned or not, but anyway, I hope not.

It's hard to imagine anyone coming to any harm by reading the philosophy of a prize-winning author. Maybe watch his TED talk if you want to see what you think of him. :) ...Or not, but anyway, please don't ban that name. Freedom! :)

All the best!

Change your name; no more problems.

samharris is good enough, isn't it?

Well, I am eager to keep this one, as I have been using it for a long time now. Also, someone typing Sam Harris in google might be exposed to all kinds of nonsense, whereas samharris.org is (I hope you will agree) a nice clean, legal, malware-free site.

Unless there is some really strong reason to ban samharris.org, then please can I keep that one.

I already have two names (I play as dogbref when my mate catbref is online), so I would rather not add any more. :-/

website names are not allowed, we allow yours then we have to allow others, im sure you can see how that would become a problem. Sorry, cant use it, use samharris like batman said and all is good.

Maybe that rule could be junked? Doesn't seem to really serve much purpose anyway. I mean if someone turns up with a website name selling hacks, then yeah, ban their sorry ass to hell, but otherwise, is it even a problem?
