Ban Appeal

Hi I was permanently banned from HOG for being on fortress in Muttrah. My in-game name is eccostate. I apologize for not knowing the rules beforehand. May the punishment be reduced. I have read the rules thoroughly and have every intention of following them.

Just my two cents... I'm pretty sure I was in eccostate's squad when this happened. He was doing a great job leading the squad, keeping everyone in line. In the back of my mind I knew there was a rule about fortress but didn't say anything (I've since re-read the rules!). I think the whole squad was kicked. I've been playing for many years... and don't think he was intentionally asshatting.

All I remember being asked by Squad 5 leader was, "what are are you doing on fortress?" I said something along the lines of, "we are just having some fun, but no seriously we were thinking of catching some of these apcs as they return to base. I am not sure if that is bannable on this server or not. We will not be shooting into their base." I waited for a response for a couple of seconds. Then I continued with, "there are also mortars here so we will be taking them out as well." That was when I was perma banned. Look I could have easily thrown some f-bombs in those sentences, but also try and talk to any marine grunt without hearing that word. If the f-word was the reason for the language then I am sorry and will work on it. I cant promise results right away, because intense situations seem to draw it out. In no way did I mean to offend anyone.

I remember it now. A whole squad attacking MEC fortress, the rest, the way you decided to answer, I believe was all part of the same problem, not knowing/ignoring the rule regarding MEC fortress in Muttrah.

If in the heat of the moment we all can lose our calm and temper, true, keep in mind that when you break a rule, specially one that is so well known as this one is not the other team's or admin fault or problem, it's yours. The other team doesn't have to be punished, losing assets/flags/tickets or the round as a result.

Other than that. it's fine. You were truthful about the facts, no bullshit, that's commendable. If you have read the server rules and understood them I'm all for lifting the ban.

I completely agree. I was in charge of a squad so I have to be even more responsible and know the rules better than the rest to avoid making a whole squad break them. I will remain up-to-date on the rules when playing on any server. Thank you.
