Hello, long time no see.
I didn't even know you were banned.

Ban message says you were ghosting (getting intel on mines and removing them).

Granted it's been months, but do you really have zero recollection of this?

OK, but the thing is, I asked the banning admin, and he remembers this incident with a fair amount of details.
And people who get hit with a straight ban usually tend to remember why they were banned.

You've been playing for a while, so you know that people have been banned permanently (in the literal sense of the word) for ghosting before, don't you?

Since he sat the ban when i was offline, and not on the same day of course I do not remember but i dont know i did not care about it maybe, I dont think i have set ban appeal before. Well now im here a couple of months later.

I have never ever ghost in any games, thats a sure thing. Warning says: ghosting on marlin, got intel on mines, then removed.
Since Marlin is a 2K map, there are like 3-4 spots to place mines if u want to block the mainbase for assets. I dont know what team i was in, but it sounds like it is only his opinion, Just like a couple of years ago when some1 banned me for spotting cache with UAV at the start in 1 min, because I luckily placed UAV close to the cache and tons of ppl were leaving cache spot (UAV had fuel at start at that version of game), even I have proofed that u can place UAV and start scanning in that short time duration.

This ban sounds like, you are not allowed to check mainbases leaving spots for mines, because it looks weird as the banner admin says looks like. Good players always have to do that (not on desert maps of course) because it takes 3-5 mins to to check 2-3-4 possible areas and save a 20 min respawn timer asset.
Maybe he was in the other team and lost asset fight against us and he wanted to see us being banned, nowadays 7 of 10 vetereans averagely are banned from hog because they dont want to see the same players dominating every single fights.
All what i know is removing mines is not against rules, even if u get lucky finding them, using texture bugs or anything. I know it is all about ghosting as u said before.
I would like to ask this admin, what if i face an enemy tank 1 km away even when it is out of range, is it ghosting again just because I can hear that from more further then any1 else because my settings and overpayed headset? He would say yes, because in his opinion it is impossible.
If i do not have recorded game of evidence, not that much what any players can do.
Interesting because if some1 does it (checking mines around main base) like 100 times, and for the 101th time he gets ban because its ghosting.

If u play this game enough times, since u can see the same players every single times online on server, you know what they do mostly, where they gonna go make fobs, whos leading inf sq-s, who is in the same squad, how many fobs they have on the map etc. Without ghosting u know these many infos just beacuse of the game.
If that other admin never heard about anything like that, I do recommend to watch this video about Sydney at 21:40 min marker.

He already knows whos in the same sq, how many fobs they have before any contact. He is probably ghosting right if he types in all chat like "good job u got 2nd fob" and he is nowhere close to the frontline.

Sorry for this extremely long letter but we all feel like we have to record every single games and keep the files for like 5 years at this point if some1 is just way better then 98% of players here.

OK, several things.

First: Fair enough, I understand the point about maps being played a 10,000 times, and everyone knows the usual spots.
But the account of the incident I got was that you were on the Insurgent side, switched to the BLUFOR side, and then started removing mines placed by the insurgent side.
I don't know how admins are supposed to interpret this action, other than ghosting.

Two: No, you don't have to keep records so you can defend yourself constantly. We keep them for you.
They're called trackers and BR files. And they're publicly available.
However, the fact that you appealed months after the ban means the old tracker files has been wiped.

Three: PBA "Oh, it's just ghosting. I thought it was legit cheating" Sydney is probably not the best example to use in this situation.

Last and most importantly: No, the banning admin didn't ban you because he was butthurt because you outsmarted him.
He wasn't even in the game when this happened.
And the judgment of this particular admin, I trust over most others, based on his history as a player and admin.
Also, questioning decisions of admins who are not even relevant to this particular incident does not help.

In any case, the point I'm making here is this:

What you did was ghosting. Simple and clear.
Not the most brazen/careless case of ghosting, but pretty straightforward.

Are you willing to admit that this kind of action is against the rules and the spirit of fair play?
I'm willing to concede that you may have interpreted this as not ghosting, and that's why you did it.
But this was ghosting.

Clearly state that this kind of action is not okay and that it will not happen again, and ban will be lifted.
