Banned for AA - ButterJugs

Hello -

In-game name: ButterJugs

I am sure I know why I was banned, so allow me to present my side and explain that I was not being disruptive, or at least that was absolutely NOT my intention to be disruptive or break any rules.

1) I was operating MEC AA vehicle on Khamisyah (AAS).

2) The MEC AA vehicle was situated a bit NORTH of the US VCP (approximately 1.3km from the center of US main, or 1km from the east 'end' of the airstrip)

3) Enemy US aircraft had engaged our MEC aircraft and shot down 1 friendly over the US VCP area -- directly over my AA.

4) I engaged the enemy US aircraft with AA over VCP and MISSED with one volley of missiles.

5) I then engaged the SAME aircraft again SW of VCP with another volley, which killed the aircraft -- however the aircraft was on a landing approach (though I did not realize this at the time). It sounds like the missiles probably impacted near the east end of the US landing strip as he flew past me from west to east -- but that's speculation only as I could not actually see the impacts as the jet was out of visual range as the missiles were still flying towards it.

6) At no time was I anywhere within visual range of US main, or frankly, even that close of it. Again, from the east end of air strip I was at least 1km out (3+ full grids). I was NOT blind firing at US main, either as it was not my intention to "camp main" -- but set up in an area to hit aircraft that may not be expecting AA along the western corridor to/from the city and warehouse areas.


I'm sure this hit an admin (or at least a HOG member) as there was a bit of text about it (I did not respond), and very shortly after I was booted. I don't recall the name as honestly I didn't think much of it at the time -- I've seen AA run from the north of VCP dozens of times on that map.

I understand this can be frustrating, however I've certainly been shot down "over main" in far more dubious circumstances on just about every server. A perm-ban seems a bit much to me for this, and I hope you will agree once you see my intent behind firing.

• - I tried to use judgement in that the aircraft was still "hot" in my mind as the engagement was ongoing after he shot down our friendly and I fired & missed the first volley. This all happened (I'd guesstimate) within 30 to 45 seconds at most.
  
  - I was NOT intentionally trying to break any rules or 'grief' anyone at all, though if I inadvertently HAVE broken a rule then I am (of course) sorry for doing so.
  
  - On HOG I will squad lead, and very often go Commander to place firebases when no one else on the team is doing so, or perform other functions for the betterment of the team/game.

K it has been a week interval now.

MEC camping VCP on khami is such a dick move, it's just like camping the only way out of enemy main. I hope you have learnt your lesson, as I have seen you playing on our server in a somewhat regular basis.

Super would you mind lifting the ban? Cheers.
