ban appeal/jet engagement

hello guys im just a bit confused to why and how the cas engagement works because alot of people including some admins which im not gonna mention says when your in a dogfight and the jet suddenly escape or tried to escape from the dod u can still engage it as long as he didnt just take off or trying to land or what which in my experience happens to me i had this one game in khami where all their jets rushed us at main and killed us and we we're circling around our main trying to gain altitude and after i reported it didnt get entertained and one admin told me they're trying to implement a rule where u can engage enemy jet trying escape to their dod but im not so sure until that one game on khamisiyah which i believe convinced me i wasnt flying on their main on hades when my ban happened i was just going around trying to look at the jet and when we engaged at the jet at J10 or I10 he went for his airfield straight away im confused guys but if i broke a rule im sorry and wont happen again its just my confusion about the cas engagement because the attacker will be killed if he turns away and the defender can just turn around and kill the attacker easily anyway i hope the banning admin or an head admin respond to me thanks have a nice day guys and unban plssssss if i ever broke a rule wont happen again i just need some clarification
