In the very beginning of the round on Yamalia, I joined a mortar squad on blufor for like 10 seconds, very soon realizing by studying the team list that blufor team is too stacked and switched to opfor. I didn't see any SL marks or didn't hear any SL comms during the super short time early in the round (pre-spawn time even iirc) that I was on the blufor side.
After switching, and not finding an infantry squad that I would like to join, neither having a wish to lead an inf squad, I decided to do mortars which I very often do lately. I was exclusively engaging contact and fob markers relayed to me by my team mates either on the map or in squadleader chat, like Quantumforce etc, besides, a lot of time passed since the beginning of the round before I was able to even start mortaring.
I'm absolutely certain that ad-hoc stuff like squad movements on flags 15 minutes after the switch that are also MARKED by friendlies on the map can not be possibly "ghosted" by having spent 10 seconds in a sq on the opposite team during squad time, where nobody was even talking at that time.
An important side note: the actual reason of me getting banned seems to be that I supported somebody else's opinion on allchat that teams are very unbalanced (I wrote - "yes, the other team is super stacked") and got banned very shortly after posting it.  Well, I do realize that playing admins have limited time for actually looking closer before banning (since they are trying to also play the game at the same moment) but if that's the reason for a "ghosting" ban... Man, what a way to tackle team balancing.

I reviewed the tracker and all the reports the banning admin received.

My assessment is that you weren't ghosting, based on the timing of the switch, targets you shot, etc.

It seems it was a simple misreading of the situation by the people who reported you.

The timing of the TB may give the impression that you were banned for all chat, but there were multiple people reporting you for ghosting.

Unbanned.

Thank you so much for looking into it!

I can't entirely fathom what was driving those people, they were taking close infantry contacts 2 minutes(!) before I started mortaring them, at that point I was engaging other targets for about 5 minutes (mostly shooting into empty forest btw), and then somebody remembers "hey that guy was with us in the lobby half an hour ago" and goes like "everybody report this guy! type in !r Laufi ghosting"
Still, I do, however, see how this misunderstanding emerged, and will try to make a point of not switching after having joined a sq for any period of time, not using allchat after switching (even very early in the game) etc.

Happy Holidays! :)

I was the banning admin, and just watched the tracker. As 2IC stated, many reports of you were ghosting and switching sides to counter mortar. I put 1 day ban on you, so i could review the file and verify.

Sorry for this inconvenience, Laufi (fortune123). Thanks 2IC for getting on this
