You're overlooking one MAJOR thing here. 99% of "permanent" bans are not meant to be permanent. They are simply to bring the player to the forums so we can advise them of an issue. Sometimes that requires a month, two weeks, or a few days ban. A lot, or even the majority of the time, once they acknowledge the problem and let us know it won't be an issue anymore the ban is typically lifted right away. You need to be aware of that.

That's fair enough. I know i just slipped up yesterday myself and got on the ban list and had to appeal. I would suggest some type of pro-rated ban after an initial warning, like 1st Offense 24 Hours, 2nd Offense 3 days, 3rd Offense 1 week. 30 Days for a 1st offense is rather strong...worse than the Facebook Police.
