You guys need to start doing your job. Manage the server instead of the players.

Hello!

As you can see by my previous post many years ago, I got a mouth. I'm not here to complain about standing up for myself, but about the issue at hand. This issue is prelevant all over PR and the only reason I'm taking it up here is because I forgot my password on the PR forums. I'll deal with that later, too.

The issue is you guys, and all the other admins, have way too much focus on individual players.
For example, just now I got kicked for talking in all chat.

But my talking in all chat was damn more important than what ever disturbance it caused.

I was (together with 5+ players) pointing out that we're literally playing a game where a CAS pilot has more kills than the entire enemy team.
That our team consists of squads with less than 2 kills at the 30 min mark. With two full or nearly full squads sitting on a total of 0-1 kills. That's TOTAL not per member.

There needed to be a shuffle. People needed to be switched around. At least a competent commander should've come in from the other team to try and get our team organized.

I'm completely lacking this kind of action on HoG but also on most other servers.I was playing on SSG earlier some 2 days ago and the teams were again stacked. Nobody took their damn time to move a squad over, nobody from the stacked admin team took their time to try and switch over, be a commander and help the weaker team out.

And often times this goes on for several maps.

What's up with this? I remember in the past shuffles were common.
Sure people might want to play together but usually there's enough clan members to make two opposing teams.
I'd imagine you'd want to train/fight against experienced opposition too.

(And no, all chat shouldn't be abused, but nobody would mention anything if the admins here and elsewhere acted to balance the server in the first place. It doesn't even have to happen that round. If the admin just replies "Hey guys, we gonna shuffle next round, np." then all that chatter is gonna turn into "alright man thx" and then quiet).

Here's a suggestion of actions that can be taken:

1. Easiest and fastest is to switch over a good player to command the losing team if they lack a commander. Help organise the newer squads, stuff like this.

2. Switch over a full squad of competent players for a squad of less so.

3. IF all all else fails, shuffle the teams at the next map change and then if possible but only if possible try to accomodate some !r Switch requests.

We have to also focus and not overlook single players, because they can have an impact on the server and everyone else. One person can ruin the game for everyone else and that is why we don't overlook someone being an asshat, wasting valuable assets, or doing anything else to disrupt gameplay. As far as team stacking goes, I have always seen admins switching squads to make the teams a little more even. I have also done it myself. We're not always going to have rounds that end with less than a 100 ticket difference. It's impossible to maintain several rounds in a row which end very close, because an outcome is also dependent on the map and available assets to a team. So, we do try to fix teams, but understand that sometimes it's not possible to consistently maintain that and there will be times when one team completely rolls over the other.

. I like rolling with you in game dude. I'm just not really sure I see those shuffles and switches are applied very often anymore. The last days or so of play on 3 servers I've not seen one major shuffle. I mentioned HoG and SSG but I can also add PRTA to that. Stuff gets stacked easily, sometimes not even because people try to do it but because good players stay in one team and good players leave the other team or quit the game. So a tilt slowly builds up over time often as people join up with their buddies.

You see what you want to see I think.

For example, I had this discussion in my last thread before I asked to be banned here with an other admin. Though we disagreed with a lot one of the things I never commented on but saw no in retrospect was his argument that this is "...the most respected PR Server".

I don't want to dig up old wounds but that's a very good example of seeing what you want to see. When you're surrounded with your buds and shits generally fine you are glowing and sometimes you might even feel "nice enough" to switch over and help the losing team.

But try generally be organizing a bunch of newbs and then dealing with a bunch of newb squad leaders on one of the biggest maps and soon you'll see the grass ain't that green and not talking in all chat is the least of your fucking priorities ;)

You don't think I've been in that situation where there is no coordination between squads and the team gets rolled? It happens, but the problem is when it happens continuously. Weren't you leading the tank squad last night on Khami when shaniqua came in and asked towards the end if our squad was willing to switch? And I did see squads being shuffled. We do try to even the gameplay. There have also been times when no shuffle is done and the team that gets rolled one round completely obliterates the other on the next one. You know that maps and game modes can affect a team's performance. I've also seen stacked teams get beat by a bunch of pubbers. We're not going to be able to perfectly balance every round.

Is team balancing what ultimately brings you to the forums? Or is it also more of a retaliatory response to warnings? Last night shaniqua warned and asked you if trans had given you permission to fly the osprey and you completely went off on him. To me it felt like your response was more of his audacity to warn you. Admins are damned if we do, damned if we don't. Aren't we? We're going to enforce the rules no matter who you are, so don't take it personally and go off on an admin especially if he's simply asking you and not automatically accusing you. If you owned the trans squad and I noticed another person flying one of your choppers, I'd do the same and ask them if they had permission from you. As admins, we'd be on your side just as much as we could be on another person's side whom you've stolen an asset from or have done something against. So as I said, don't take it personal.

I'm rewritting this post in an effort to stay as civil as you are, cause dam man, you're a civil guy.

Here's my beef. First of all let's not mix things up.

"Asking someone" and giving them a buzzing warning saying "STOP DOING THAT" are two different things.

The former is chill, the later induces panic.

You know well what happened with that Osprey.
After managing to land it while on fire I crashed it because I had to communicate with 5 different people at the same time:

1. The admin "asking" about it.

2. The former SL of Trans who was now in our own Squad.

3. The current SL of Trans because the admin requested a confirmation from him too because being given permission one time apparently isn't enough.

4. The squad requesting supplies

5. My own squad talking about that and a shit ton of other things.

I'd rather be under fire from an APC as I was before than have to go through that again.
The weird thing is nobody who is responsible for anything could've possible reported it because all the dudes invoolved are either in my squad or talking to me so the admin literally had the audacity to create a shitstorm that never exist. Yes the audacity.

Now about the switching:
All I remember in our squad was that people were asked if they were gonna play one more round, not if they were gonna switch.

We ended up losing all our tanks in the final push, with the chilenian guy falling first, then you guys then us. If they asked to switch then that's great. It's commendable. But I haven't seen it go down and that round everyone left so I can't comment further.

Secondly the same pattern is repeated with the shuffling thing.
While other admins will respond and perhaps disagree or simply ignore you, here you get kicked off for mouthing off. That's server based but systemic is the lack of server balance. For example I remember talking this over with some DPRC guys about it and dude just flat out disagreed with me because there was only one squad of his clan on the server then. And that's fine, but there was like 20 other dudes that were all organized in that team. I think it was in SSG. So while I or anyone else didn't get kicked off , the balancing issue stil persisted and 4 or 5 maps were lost in a row before the server crashed.

What I'm lacking from you dude is the following:

I had 5 peeps plus me comment on the shitshow explained in this OP. Forget that I was kicked, in fact I accept that. Where is the critique of the lack of a clear effort and response from the administration towards the playerbase at that time that there will be a shuffle?

I commend you civility but I believe that you are biased in your approach.

Nobody said anything about you losing the osprey. We understood what happened. After it was made clear that you had not stolen it, the issue was dropped. The whole "Stop Doing That" is automatic. I could send someone a warning and be asking them how their day went and they will still get a "Stop Doing That".

I'm not denying that sometimes we could do a little bit more shuffling. I'd be biased if I said we never have a problem with it. I don't hide things. Just like you, before I was admin, I have also brought the issue up in game myself. And now as an admin, if I don't see someone else already switching squads in a round that's clearly unbalanced, I do it myself.

Shaniqua did come into the squad and asked "Hey Justice and Sab, are yall cool if you switch over on the next round?" to which I replied "I don't mind, it's fine. But I actually don't think I'll be here for the next round" and Sab then said "I don't think I'll be here either." See, it was already midnight where Sab and I are, and I personally had to wake up at 7am. I didn't even finish the round and we still had 400 tickets left when we lost that tank. If you're saying you only heard him ask if we were going to play another round, then you missed the most important part of that whole exchange which in part is a huge reason why we're here.
