Okay So i was temp banned today for killing a frogfoot over the mec main on khamisiya. I have read the rules which i was unaware of at the time that you cannot chase enemy aircraft over their main and kill them. This has been a topic of hot debate wether this rule should stand or not and Once i had an entire CAS squad banned for a scrimmage over an enemy airbase where one aircraft was lead there mid dogfight *leading the others there to support*. SO Here's a video of the incident
. Now keep in Mind I was Accused of *CAMPING* the enemy main then engaging the aircraft over their main. The admin PrwarsDarksorrow then switched teams asked who did it and started screaming etc *he was in the frogfoot* Long story short next game i got temp banned. Now for the year and a half that I have been playing project reality. ALL servers including the one I am An admin on DPRC has either no rule about engaging over main or the rule is to finish the engagement first before returning to base. The reason being is that Say an Enemy Aircraft and you are dog fighting. The the enemy aircraft is either out of ammo or simply doesn't want to commit to the dogfight, it drags you from wherever the dogfight occurs to a low altitute purposely over their main base. Forcing you to break off due to server rules or whatever the case is. This can be problamatic for a number of reasons.
1 he has a wingman taking off to intercept your break away.
2 he actually has munitions left and wants you to break away so he can then rengage and kill you.
3 it is just not a fair rule as CAS plays differently than armor CAS cannot harm the infantry in or around the base unless they are literally 50 feet AGL because of *DOD* which would mean it is a purposeful attack.
4 When you are in a dogfight it happens often times so quickly that by the time you blink 30 - 40 seconds have passed and you are both in a completely different section of the map.
I strongly Urge the head admins to read this carefully and seriously. I am not here for petty arguments just a debate not even mad that the admin gave no warning before the ban. This has always been an issue on many servers and i'm sure it will continue to be. As I have seen many bans because of this reason where it is mostly misunderstandings.
Baseraping in a jet can be defined as sitting above the enemy main at around 2000 feet *the altitude most people go onto the map* and once the enemy jet is airborne you either follow and kill or just simply kill it.

Not that I fully agree with this rule myself, you did break it.

And just to cover a few things. I did not accuse you of camping (or maybe someone else did) but I asked who just shot the frog foot down over MEC main when I came into your squad. I did raise my voice because I had to talk over the rest of the people in the squad.

You say we were in a dogfight which a dogfight to me is both people are engaging each other. I was flying back towards MEC main when you started to lock me. Granted you did hit me away from main. But as we all can see in the video you overfly me, circle around when you could have broken off seeing that now you were over MEC main, you continued to engage and finish me off.

While yes I get people getting tunnel vision, you see the kill, who wouldn't want to finish off the enemy. You could have walked away with a warning but the fact that you had to tell me off when all I was going to do was probably tell you "Hey you can't shoot down enemy jets over their main" and you could have said "Oh ok sorry, I didn't know that was a rule" and you could have kept playing. So next time keep the attitude in check.

As for changing the rule, the admins have already talked about it in length and it is there to prevent people from base raping people's mains with CAS or camping the sky's about it. While in your case you could have been let off with a warning, the rule is there to prevent others abusing CAS in that way.

Thank you For this Down to earth reply. Yeah I get it things were heated in the game and this is a discussion post as well. So lets look at it from a different angle what happens when people start abusing this rule to their benefit? For example getting a jet to bait the enemies to main and when they break off have the others chase them down? Or simply using AA to kill the retreating jet? Many ways to look at it,but I appreciate the mature reply.

I don't fly CAS much but I really think the admins should revisit this rule. Perhaps revising it to only allow an already engaged jet to continue pursuing. If everyone were to just fly back to main every time someone got on their tail, it would be no fun. Deadman brought up a good point about how a jet could fly back to main, then you HAVE to break off, and he turns on you and kills you.

We do see a points, and they are all valid. I too do not agree 100 percent with the rule but it has to be there. I dont fly much anymore either but i do know the best way to find the enemy aircraft is to go to their main and wait for them to come out and poof, easy kill.

To me, without the rule, i can envision a swarm of opfor flying around, over and thru the main base waiting for this for the enemy to take off etc. We have watched videos of people saying they didnt go after aircraft over the opfor main and in the video they do exactly that.

You say that this server is the only one with this rule, then how does it work on the other servers? I mean, if no rule prevents it, i WILL camp your main and shoot you down as soon as your wheels leave the ground.

Im going to put a stop to this. Gladly i enjoy discussion, but in this video you see that he clearly able to break off, which he did not. He had the jet on fire, while the jet is clearly going for a landing. Even out of context a jet that low, flying towards their main on a turn is kinda saying "hey im camping their main" heck i could even pull the BR file for this and watch it for you to probably tell where you cut the video you were camping the main. But the rule stands the way it does because how wonky missile mechanics can be. Also what is to stop the CAS jet from engaging main once over main. The easiest way to keep them from engaging main is to keep them away from it at all times. This also prevents wonky mechanics or accidental bombs or something. Because it is a main. You just don't go near it. Simple as that, this will prevent all problems. LITERALLY PREVENT YOU FROM BEING KICKED/BANNED FOR ATTACKING MAIN IS TO NOT BE NEAR A MAIN AT ALL. That is the logic behind it. I put it in caps because i think most players don't have the common sense for it so it needs to be highlighted more. It literally makes the admins jobs more difficult and it makes the players lives more difficult because we can not admin it and keep it all the same. The rule it's self is straight forward and very obvious. "DO NOT GO NEAR ENEMY MAINS" this of course is an abbreviated version of the rules. But in my eyes it is self explanatory. You are lucky you got a temp ban only. I would ban you for another month if i were to be the banning admin because of your past incidents and the fact you have had plenty of time to read our rules, and you also know we have the rules on the forums for a reason so that they are easily accessible to players like you. Your previous bans also state that you have been on the forums and have read the rules. So you not knowing them at the time is no excuse.

But what gets me is that i have to now take my time and record the full engagement before hand, the part where you don't show you were camping above the main. Even if you happened to not be, you still clearly were at ground level, had vision of the main, and you claim tunnel vision. Pardon me but that is just a bunch of bull shit. I have been flying CAS for a pretty moment now and i always notice the ground land marks. Especially if it is a main with a fucking run way. I honestly can go on for days about this, but to keep a short rant short, you broke a rule, rule probably will not be revised and i am obviously against revising it.

EDIT: super beat me to it.
